About baren
baren is a Seoul brand from Marslabs that does one thing K-beauty houses rarely touch: the body below the neck. It grew out of beauty-salon work the founders date to 2015, and set out to pack professional foot, hand and nail treatments into products anyone can use at home in a minute. There is no facial skincare in the range at all, only feet, heels, hands, nails and body. The first hit was the callus softener spray plus stainless foot file, sold more than a million times since 2021 and ranked first in Olive Young's wellness-goods category. In 2025 the brand refreshed its purple look, added panthenol to the softener and launched the Shea Butter Sleeping Heel Patch, which topped Olive Young's live sales ranking on its arrival. Everything is made in Korea and tested for low irritation at an independent clinical centre.

Is the callus softener safe? It works in a minute.+
Yes, on intact skin. It works through 9% urea and mild AHAs that loosen dead skin, not through strong acids, and passed an independent patch test with a zero irritation score. Two rules: never use it on broken, cracked or inflamed skin, and stop filing as soon as the skin feels smooth.
Is baren vegan or cruelty-free?+
The brand makes no certification claim, and not every product is vegan: the heel patch contains beeswax. The cuticle oil pen is a plant-oil formula. We list what is in each product so you can choose.
Where is baren made?+
In South Korea. The brand belongs to Marslabs Inc. in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, and its products are contract-made by Korean manufacturers; the cuticle pen, for example, comes from White Cosfarm in Cheonan.
How often should I use the kit and the heel patch?+
File once or twice a week, then let the skin rest; the brand suggests re-treating every 7 to 10 days. Heel patches go on two or three nights a week on clean, completely dry skin. The ideal order is file first, patch after, balm in between.
